My cats won't stop fighting. They're usually little spouts that don't last more than 2 seconds, but Sibey, the younger one always starts it. I think she's just being territorial but it's been like a month. Do you guys know of some good tactics to get them to deal with each other?

There is none really. They need to establish dominance. Once that happens they will stop

Posted on October 25, 2008, 6:40 am

Animals will almost always fight to establish a social hierarchy. After that, the dominant animal will still whoop up on the weaker one. Shoot them both, or just let it happen...which is what I would do. No vet bills = no worries.

My two cats still fight. And they are 3 and 4 years old. Dominance has already been established. Most of it is play, and they don't hurt each other, but . . . occasionally I have to break them up when the dominant one is being too much of a thug.

Just keep a spray bottle

Posted on October 25, 2008, 9:06 am

Just keep a spray bottle handy for when the fights go overboard.

Other than that there is no way to stop them.

Why would your neighbours complain? Do you keep pumas?

I'm gonna stay eighteen forever
So we can stay like this forever
And we'll never miss a party
Cos we keep them going constantly

If they're not fixed it

If they're not fixed it needs to be done asap. It cuts down on territorial behavior a ton.

Get a squirt bottle at a dollar store. Turn it on the tightest spray possible and when they start shoot a little stream of water at each of them until they run out of the room. Smiling It'll stop the fight, isn't particularly cruel and is quite humorous uPinkLol.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able, and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

God, what sucks is ... both of my cats don't even notice it.

One time for shits and giggles, I emptied a glass of water at them. Didn't even phase them.

My cats ignore me uPinkLol uPinkLol uPinkLol

My cat cried and was in a mood with us for a few hours afterwards.

My mum was practically crying with remorse, convinced Lily hated her.

`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'

that's the thing though, PeeWee's afraid to go to the bathroom without getting pounced. He once peed on the couch and he's pooped numerous times on the floor. I'm worried.

We had a queen like your's

Posted on October 26, 2008, 6:27 am

We had a queen like your's once, named Divine...gorgeous girl, great with people.

With the other cats, though, it was a different story...she was the alpha bitch, and made their lives hell.

We finally, reluctantly, found her another home where she could be the one and only. You may have to make a difficult choice.

Yes, that is a problem.

Posted on October 26, 2008, 6:44 am

Yes, that is a problem. Investigate a product called "Feliway." It's a calming spray that many people swear by.

Also, make sure you provide a sanctuary for the picked on cat. A hideway he can retreat to. His own litter box, too, or at least one per cat.

The cat being picked on

Posted on October 26, 2008, 9:14 am

The cat being picked on isn't ours. We're taking care of him for a friend and he's got no where else to go.

Feliway, I'll check it out.
