I'd be more than happy to
Posted on September 19, 2008, 6:45 pmI'd be more than happy to polish Steel jewelry for you. Titanium might be a special case...I'll check on that.
If you put the jewelry into individual plastic baggies, I'll sterilize it before I polish it and then again before I ship it back to you.
Basically you'd need to pay for all the shipping and maybe a few bucks per piece for my time.
FYI: My boss used to own a jewelry manufacturing company so we have all sorts of equipment in the shop, my favorite being the polishing wheels...they come in handy quite a bit!
Feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks John! I gotta
Posted on September 20, 2008, 5:21 amThanks John! I gotta believe (from some of the pictures I've seen, especially when people mate jewelry together) that other folks might want this kind of service too - maybe you could start a side business!
I have some colored titanium pieces and I don't mind the color getting polished off as long as they're nice 'n smooth...

The color would certainly
Posted on September 20, 2008, 4:03 pmThe color would certainly polish off since the color is only an artificially thickened oxide layer.
But that's not the issue. I believe Titanium requires a specific polishing rouge and maybe a specific polishing wheel material. I could be wrong, but I've spent a lot of time at Anatometal in Santa Cruz and I'm certain there were three separate polishing stations (gold, steel, titanium). I've also spent some time at Industrial Strength and as I recall, the same was true there.
My offer still stands, though, and I will look into the issue more to see what I can do.
