That's an awesome idea. I
Posted on April 8, 2008, 9:27 pmThat's an awesome idea. I have seen it done on a few faces, but everyone differs it seems. I think skin thickness is pretty much the same, but it matters how your forehead protrudes. I've seen some protrusion underneath skin from those kind of piercings, but on some none at all. I know that probably doesn't help at all, but just trying to give an idea.

Yeah, I looked through all
Posted on April 8, 2008, 11:45 pmYeah, I looked through all 300-someodd pages of BMEzine's microdermal piercing gallery and most of them looked fine, but I also have a medical condition that could potentially affect that. I just can't tell just by looking at my forehead if it'll work for me or not.
I have a backup placement if it ends up not being an option for me, but I'm really hoping to know beforehand so I can get some ends pre-ordered.

Posted on April 9, 2008, 9:48 amI went to my piercer a couple of week ago to ask about Aprilynnes, and he pinched the area with his fingers to check out if it would be possible. Have you talked to the piercer yet? They can probably poke/prod your forehead and tell you if they think they could do it or not easily.
Also, I don't think you're supposed to change the ends on the microdermals for like a really long time after they're in, so unless you've got stellar self-control (I dont...) you might just want to get one end for now.
I think it's an awesome placement though! Be sure to show us pictures whatever you get done!

Posted on April 9, 2008, 11:59 amI agree you need to go to the piercer and check. I think my forehead would pinchy enough for it. But with out going and talking to a piercer you wont know.
And Ill second what annieee said, you'll need to leave it be for a while. They heal differently than regular piercings.

Posted on April 9, 2008, 12:59 pmif your piercer uses a needle it might not work out as well as if you had it dermal punched, just because foreheads don't really have any meat to them.
&& changing the end is a no no, for at least 6 months ... not only is it hard to change those suckers to begin with but, pulling or applying pressure to the sight might make it sit wrong in the end. so be sure you have ends you are satisfied with.

Oh, no, I'm not planning on
Posted on April 9, 2008, 1:56 pmOh, no, I'm not planning on trying to change it out early (I've had 11 piercings -- I know better!) it's just that I want to order the jewelry while I have the money.
This microdermal is my reward for reaching my weight loss goal and it happened to coincide with getting a bit of spending money (right now every penny I make is going into savings) so I'm just hoping to get all the ends I want pre-ordered before the cash ends up going towards something else.
I'm assuming I may end up stuck with the healing cap for a while, anyway.

Posted on June 18, 2008, 3:01 amYour skin likes to suck the microdermals in, rather than want to push it out like piercings that go completely through your skin (in and back out). So there is definitely hope for your 3rd eye!
Microdermals generally don't take super long to heal, but you do have to be careful not to hit or fuss with them.
And woot for reaching your weight loss goal!!!

I've had my bindi
Posted on June 19, 2008, 1:54 pmI've had my bindi microdermal for two months or so now and it turned out wonderfully.
My piercer said the ends CAN be changed out as early as 6 weeks but says it'll be tricky and wants me to come in to do it. I'd rather not have to run to her every time, so I'll get it figured out. In the meantime, though, I'm just letting it do its healing thing. It should be healed up by now (she said 6-8 weeks) but I'd rather not take any chances!
