lamotrigine is Lamictal, i
Posted on March 14, 2008, 9:15 pmlamotrigine is Lamictal, i just checked webmd and it is. i have some of the same symptoms, i'm not sure about sibilance but my mom was snapping gum the other day and i sorely wanted to punch her in the back of the head. i'm on 250 mgs as of tomorrow and am not looking forward to it. i think it's causing more problems than it's "fixing"... especially seeing your post. i wish they wouldn't use meds like this on patients with mental illness. it's anti-seizure, what is supposedly the benefit?

Bloo: the meds are actually
Posted on March 14, 2008, 10:25 pmBloo: the meds are actually really working. I can see why they use them and they are beneficial for leveling out moods. It just sucks that they have so many side effects.
Grizzly: I take the Clonazepam for anxiety and the Lamictal for stabilizing my mood. I was on carbamazepine/tegretol about a year ago but it wasn't working for me. Made me really sick.
Right now I am on 400mg and my psychiatrist wants to take it up to 600mg since my mood is so crappy right now and they have to basically keep me sedated/tranquilized on Clonazepam to function.
I'm just worried about these side effects. I'm on Seroquel and Cipralex in addition, but I am worrying that either this is going to cause damage or that I'm having addition problems with tardive dyskinesia. However, this doesn't seem very tardive-like... some of the symptoms, sure, but the rest seems so weird.

You're also going to want to
Posted on March 15, 2008, 5:14 amYou're also going to want to look at Trileptal. It's a later version of Tegretal. It has far fewer side effects.

I'm alright with the Lamictal - it is helping... I just don't like whats going on.

Up until two months ago it wasn't generic. It is now

Are you sure? I'm pretty
Posted on March 15, 2008, 4:51 pmAre you sure? I'm pretty sure it's been generic here for a while because I know some other people who have taken it for a variety of reasons. My therapists just seem to like carbamazepine for some unspoken reason.

Trileptal
I just saying that I have similar symptoms to you and I've been on both. I have had a lot of luck with Trileptal.
