I'm sitting here trying to repair my vacuum, and there is one frayed wire going into the hose assembly. So I search online for the cord, and it appears as though I have to purchase the entire freaking hose assembly because they couldn't have made a simple male-female cord, they had to hardwire the bitch into the base.

Bastards. $70 freaking dollars to replace what should have been a simple cord?

And no, I won't take it into a repair shop- they'll charge me labor for what I can install myself.

First person to tell me I'm getting "hosed" gets a pie in the kisser. uWhipped

I'm cornfused. Why don't you just cut out the bad spot and splice in a piece of good wire? Shrink wrap is your friend. uSmile2

It's at the end, not in the middle.

And new vacuum it may have to be- I just wanted to see if I could replace it myself and then I saw the price....holy crap!

Yeah man, new vacuum time. My vacuum was only like $50. It works like a $50 vacuum, but it works for what we need, which is cleaning like every other week or so.

Garage sale an old tank Electrolux They go cheap and will last forever. The early power nozzle had a cord that was external to the hose.

Phal, its funny my bf had a similar vacuum battle on Monday. The end of the brush looked like it had melted, so it was spinning off center. But in messing with it, he discovered that it was lacking suction as well (at the motor part it was good but at the hose and brush it was pathetic).

Not worth it!

I think the current solution for him is to borrow mine, haha.

My vacuum is the little Eureka one, it looks like a toy but it works better than the full-size vacuums I've had in the past. Its no Dyson, but it works till I upgrade to a Dyson or Roomba Smiling
