I've tried cocoa butter
Posted on November 25, 2008, 9:33 pmI've tried cocoa butter before, vitamin E cream as well. both of them stung like crap. but that was just me.. i'm sure it's not bad on everyone
the wife used it on hers and really liked the results!
i'm a fan of aquaphor, personally. but as has been said many times, everyone's different and some things work better for others! glad you found something that worked well for you!

Bacitracin is not a good
Posted on November 26, 2008, 1:50 pmBacitracin is not a good product for healing tattoos...in general.
Usually you want to avoid medicated ointments. A&D is fine, so is Aquaphor.
But any ointment probably shouldn't be used for more than just a few days at the most. After that, moisturizers are all that's needed for itching.

Posted on November 29, 2008, 8:39 amI can't use any "tricin" as it makes me break out in a rash (my skin problems should be defined as BEYOND ridiculous). I wish I had remembered about the moisturizer for my second tattoo before I did (it was 10 years between the two). It would have saved that evil looking rash I had around it and the loss of some brightness - luckily it is still really bright.

Posted on November 29, 2008, 2:40 pmI use A&D for the first day, but prefer the super plain lotion for the following week to 2 weeks.

Posted on November 29, 2008, 6:24 pmI used Aquaphor for the first four days, then switched to plain Curel lotion after the tattoo started peeling and itching... Seems to be working well for me.

I used bepanthen first aid.
Posted on December 14, 2008, 3:55 amI used bepanthen first aid. Nowhere near as greasy as the original bepanthen cream, plus it doesnt smell odd and it absorbs quickly.

i love cocoa butter but i
Posted on December 15, 2008, 6:19 pmi love cocoa butter but i tend to keep it for a few days into healing as it stings me a little if i put it on straight away. aloe vera intensive care cream works rather fabulously too.
