Well it's nice you're trying
Posted on June 23, 2008, 2:04 pmWell it's nice you're trying to help her out then.
What jewellery does she have, curved bar? Circular bar?
All the mothers that cry all the fathers who mourn,
For every life that's taken there's another child born.
That doesn't make it better and it doesn't make it right.
I'm just grateful everyday that you came in my life.

She started with a SS 12
Posted on June 23, 2008, 2:17 pmShe started with a SS 12 gauge 1/2" straight barbell with 1/4" balls, then tried a Industrial Strength Titanium with 5/32" balls to see if the alloy was the issue. No real change but the smaller 5/32'' balls almost fell into the piercing after a few weeks. So she's back to the 1/4's. When the jewelry is removed the interrior of the piercing looks a little wet. For the most part she's really pleased with it, but sometimes it gets a litle cranky.
Thanks-

Never soaked it, was advised
Posted on June 23, 2008, 3:15 pmNever soaked it, was advised against it by the studio while healing. Are you referring to Sea Salt? Often uses H2 Ocean during the day when sore, and Aveno wash in the shower every day. Tight fiting clothes are not a factor. Yes- on the lube. Thanks

I always thought straight
Posted on June 23, 2008, 3:45 pmI always thought straight barbells shouldn't be worn in VCH?
Thought it was curved jewellery only? Could be wrong though.

Is it a pinchy hurt, or like
Posted on June 23, 2008, 3:49 pmIs it a pinchy hurt, or like an achey hurt?
If it's pinchy, she may want to try stretching to 10g, that could help relieve it.

Posted on June 23, 2008, 4:03 pmI don't know about the Straight VS. Curved bar thing. She asked, and advised against it - atleast for now.
Okay- Just got confirmation that it's a "Pinchy" type hurt.
Sounds like a one on one consult with the Piercer is on order. Thought there might be a Magic answer, but that would be way too easy. Thanks for all the Beta !

The recommended jewelry for
Posted on June 23, 2008, 9:58 pmThe recommended jewelry for a vert hood is either a curved barbell or a cbr. Heather Angel of Rings of Desire fame always used a curved barbell.

"advised against soaking"
Posted on June 24, 2008, 8:02 am"advised against soaking" but here--use this magic spray on potion. Oy! IMO, this is bad advice. Try warm sea salt soaks. please.

Sorry Cloud, Wasn't exactly
Posted on June 24, 2008, 11:54 amSorry Cloud, Wasn't exactly clear about "advising against it" It was a proposed option, but I think it was more about convienience for that area.
I copied the instructions on soaking that area from the Healing section of Tribaletic, and will Give it a go tonight.
Any thoughts on the Straight vs. curved or stepping up to 10g?
Thanks alot for all the advice.

Pinchy always means the
Posted on June 24, 2008, 9:29 pmPinchy always means the jewlery is too thin of a gauge in my personal experience. Stretching up to a 10g might be better, and I would give the curved a shot. I have learned that if one thing isn't comfy to try something else...because it very well may be.
