I did my left tragus myself one day when I got bored. I was looking in the mirror and was wondering if it was possible to get it peirced .. so I did it. It hurt, it wasn't a lot of pain .. it was more like uncomfortable pressure. There wasn't much blood at all either. I really liked it. However after about a year or so my ear rejected it and it just started growing outward till you could look at it and see the ring through the skin, so i just took it out so it wouldnt get ripped out but my hair. I've been there done that .. and I'm not sure if i wanna pay to get it done again.
