I first had my tongue pierced when I was 16 in Idaho. My mother didnt want me to get it done of course but agreed to it, my father went with me for this joyful expierence. It didnt hurt as the needle went thru my tongue, but it did hurt for the next couple of days. I really enjoy having my ring in, it gives me something to play with as Im in a quiet place or somewhere i cant talk or fidget. I play with my tongue ring. Then, when i was 18 i had to take it out for this school I went to. I repierced it shortly after it closed up. As I repierced it for the 2nd time it hurt slighty, not much but just enough....it hurt because he had some scare tissue to go thru. But about a 5-6 weeks later it still wasnt healed. So, i took it out and let it heal....a year or so later, I had it repierced for the 3rd time, and this time it hurt soooooo bad but only because he had so much more scare tissue to go thru and to this day I still have it in, i love it and hope to never get rid of it....for anyone whos thinking about doing it, make sure its what you want and always watch them open the needle up from the package.
