Hi There!I had my belly-button pierced just over a week ago. I never really thought about getting it done but my parnter had been nagging about it for so long I decided to shut him up and get it done. (I do think they look cute, but I didn't think I had the stomach to show off a piercing! lol)So, we live in a small town, no piercer for about 600km, so when I heard there was a girl who visited that did piercings and tattoos I grabbed her phone number and gave her a call. I made an appointment and went looking for jewellery... The small country town jewellers only had TWO pieces of body jewellery!! So I settled for the plain banana barbell that she offered in the cost of the piercing, which was fine, but not exactly what I had in mind if you know what I mean. Anyway, I walked in to Sarah's house where she had set up a spare room and told her that I was terrified! She asked if I was afrid of needles or pain and when I told her BOTH she was really good. She reassured me and explained everything. I wanted to see the needle and all the gear and she was great about it. She told me that the worst bit would probably be the clamping, but I didn't think it hurt that mush at all. She clamped the skin and pushed the needle through, then she put the jewellery in. I think that was probably the worst, only because it was really sensitive after being pierced. But overall I think it was great, definately worth it. Afterwards I got really light-headed, something no-one had really mentioned before and got a bit worried, but Sarah got me a glass of water and sat me down, telling me the same thing happened to her when she had hers done. When I got home and showed my partner he thought it looked a bit gross, but it was healing well.UNTIL I went swimming... bad idea! Whatever you do don't go swimming in a pool! It's not that bad, but it was looking so good and now it has gone really red and is sore but not infected, just dry with a bit of flaky skin around each hole.I would recommend navel piercing, just don't swim in a pool!!Thanks Sarah!
