I decided on getting this piercing to celebrate moving through a very dificult time in my life. I was very nervous (naturally) and not the kind of girl to 'spread em' for just about anyone. But I knew that I had to do it. Along with this piercing, I opted to get a Christina piercing at the same time (at the top of the Y junction on the pubic mound). The piercing experience wasn't so bad, my piercer was very professional and sensed my anxiety, therefore was very cool about the whole thing. I'm not going to lie, both piercings hurt like hell. There was no way I was going to go through that again, but I was happy that it was over with. I followed through with all of my aftercare instructions faithfully, took my vitamins, drank plenty of water, and rested. Both piercings kind of "spotted" at first, but then stopped as the healing progressed. The fourchette piercing (guiche) healed in no time flat. I was pierced there with a 12 gauge curved barbell, no problems at all! The Christina was painful, sore, infected, and to top it off....crooked! That started the madness. I took antibiotics from my doctor to clear the infection, and then opted to remove the piercing to have it done at a later date. Upon removing that piercing, I felt like a million bucks! I could walk normally, sit normally, cross my friggin legs, wear any kind of clothing without the jewelry getting irriatated, and I'm gonna tell you, driving became easier (having to sit, and twist to look over my shoulder was really uncomfortable!). So the more research I did on the Christina piercing, I learned that they don't usually last that long precisely because of the things I was experiencing. It's a gorgeous piercing, just not that practical. The Fourchette healed without ANY problems...just the occassional stinging after using the bathroom. During the healing of these piercings, I have remained celebate....I did not want to tear, or risk any infection. And to be honest, the thought of sex frightens me a bit because I don't want to hurt the piercing! Who knows? I knew that as a woman, I needed to go through the experience, I don't know if the piercing is really practical, but for me it was a priceless learning experience. Some women have told me that certain sexual positions don't hurt as badly with the jewelry in. But I'm not sure if I want to risk that. I'm the kind of girl who really enjoys sex and I would never want to limit myself in the sack. But for now I am content. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my experience.
