I got my amp done in 1990 at Gauntlet in LA. So this is a LONG term resport- skip to the end if youwant the health details.This was the first piercing I ever had done- I didn't even have pierced ears. I'd known about genital piercing for a couple years because of contact with the Temple of Psychich Youth. I was 18 and had only had sex twice, but it had felt kinda dull, so I figured the extra stimulation would be good, and the Amphallang was definatley the coolest looking of the lot.When I went in, I was suprised to see Angel there- I recognized her from the Modern Primatives photo. Unfortunatley she didn't do my piercing- she said she little expereince with that one, or penises in general. Instead an enoprous leatherman named "Piercer Pete" did the dead. I thought I was calm, but I jumped like heck when the needel went through...I had a bit of vulcanoing when the pierecing healed, and it was always producing crust. I eventually replaced the 14 gauge with a 12 gauge, but I still had some problems. It certainly felt good during sex, though I still didn't always come from intercourse. I never wanted to remove it, but the poor healing was a concern, even after having it for 10 years.A couple years ago I had to remove it for a surgical procedure, and I was unable to try and re-insert for almost a week (to distracted with pain and drugs). It shut up and eventually healed completely closed. I haven't had an orgasm from intercourse since I removed it. I got a PA about 4 months ago to see if that would help, but its not the same, though it is very cool looking and my girlfriend likes it more than the amp.
